Central and State Government offer various scholarships for talented and financially backward students. Brief descriptions of scholarships are given below.

A student can apply for any number of scholarships but if selected the student can avail only one scholarship at a time that ensures maximum amount.

 E- GRANTZ

The SC/ ST department offers fee concession to students studying in plus two, degree, post graduation, courses belonging to OBC, KPCR with annual income below 1 lakh. There is no income limit for SC/ ST, OEC students for receiving fee concession. The students should apply online for the E- grantz from the Akshya Centres and the copy of the same along with income certificate, community certificate, copy of the savings bank passbook and Aadhaar card should be submitted to the head of the institution. SC/ ST/ OEC students who stay in hostel will be granted hostel charges.

CENTRAL SECTOR SCHOLARSHIP

Under the ministry of Human Resource Development the Central Government offers scholarship for student who scored above 80% marks in plus two exams. The applications are invited in July- Aug. The first year degree students whose annual income is below 6 lakhs are eligible to apply. For details visit www.scholarships.gov.in Scholarship amount: UG: 10000, PG: 20000

POST METRIC SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered by the Central Government, Ministry of Minority Welfare, for Muslim, Christian students studying UG/ PG/ MPhil/ PhD. Applications are invited in July- Aug. Students having annual income below 2 lakhs and having marks above 50% are eligible for apply. For details, please visit www.scholarships.gov.in Scholarship amount: 3000 + fees

SNEHAPOORVAM SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered by the Social Welfare Department of Kerala for students who do not have mother, father or both and whose guardians are not able to protect them due to ill health or financial reasons. The applications should be submitted to the head of the institution. After the necessary verification the same will be uploaded in www.ikm.in/kssm. Scholarship Amount Rs. 10000 per year.

BLIND / PH SCHOLARSHIP

The applicant for fee concession and free hostel stay for blind, deaf and physically challenged students will be invited in Nov- Dec. The scholarship is offered by the State Government of Kerala. INDIRA GANDHI SINGLE GIRL CHILD SCHOLARSHIP

The application for the Single Girl Child scholarship offered by the UGC will be invited in Nov- Dec. This scholarship is offered for the single child in a family studying in PG programmes. For details visit www.scholarships.gov.in Amount Rs. 31000 per year.

PG MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

The application for PG Merit Scholarship will be invited in July-Aug. This scholarship will be invited in July-Aug.
