Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its motion and behavior through space and time, and the related entities of energy and force. It is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behalves ,The department of W.M.O IGASC has been a department of college since its initiations .Physics is an essential part of educational system and of an advanced society. It is an exciting intellectual adventure that inspires young people and expands frontiers of our knowledge about nature. It also generates fundamental knowledge needed for the future technological advances that will continue to drive the economic engines of the world.

Physics extends and enhances our understanding of other disciplines, such as the earth, agricultural, chemical, biological and environmental sciences. Moreover   Astrophysics and Cosmology-are the subjects of substantial importance to all people of the world. The fundamental physics taught in our college as part of Department of B.Sc. Chemistry includes Mechanics, Electricity, Magnetism and Thermodynamics, Optics and Photonics, Electronics and Modern physics etc.. All these branches of Physics are convenient for our students to design a better career.

W.M.O IGAS College’s Department of Physics hosts a laboratory that allows students to conduct experiments and analyze data.

Small class sizes (average of 10) provide students with one-on-one attention and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using modern analytical equipment commonly found in industrial and medical laboratories. All Students are also encouraged to gain laboratory and teaching experience through a variety of work-study. Some of the experiments taught in our department are: Spectroscopy, Newton’s Ring, Uniform and Non Uniform Bending etc..
