The Department of Chemistry came into existence with the establishment of the college in 2012 with the BSc Degree course. The department is raised to the post-graduate level by the introduction of M.Sc Chemistry course in 2020. The department has well-qualified, dynamic and dedicated four faculty members and one non-teaching staff. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are specialized in various areas of teaching and research. We are committed to develop skills in chemistry by imparting knowledge which favours academic competence, social skills and moral values. The department has well equipped laboratories. The department also provide trainings on soft skills, consultancy and training programmes in different fields of Chemistry. My primary goal as a teacher is to foster the acquisition of basic concepts of the subject matter and groom up the learning skills in students to facilitate critical thinking. I believe as a teacher and a researcher, it is my responsibility to drive and support my students in pursuit of three learning goals; learn basic concepts of chemistry, cultivate an interest in science and its recent advancements and to develop a deep working knowledge in a particular field of chemistry

Dhanya M K (MSc, BEd, SET)

Teaching is about Learning. Learning is not something that can be defined as a procedure; learning is something that occurs in a rather unstructured and ad-hoc way. Education is not a one-size-fits-all discipline, and I believe it's essential that my approach is tailored to the specific learning needs of each student. I get to know the students as individuals so I can appropriately support and challenge them academically.
